Music annd Sports college essay free essay sample
I have excelled in both Music and Athletics since I was five years old. Both of these activities have been part of my daily and weekly routines for the last 12 years. I am extremely passionate about both of them and thankful that I have been able continue both throughout high school. One day when I was five years old, my father and I were riding our bikes and we passed the Old Town School of Folk Music. There were signs for youth violin lessons and my father asked me if I wanted to play the violin. I later switched to the viola and continued taking weekly lessons, spent five summers at Interlochen Arts Camp, and become a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. For me, making music is an outlet that allows me to take my mind off of everything else and lets me express myself in a more abstract way. We will write a custom essay sample on Music annd Sports college essay or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Through music camp and other ensembles I have also met some of my greatest friends, and had the chance to perform beautiful works with amazing people. A few weeks ago when I was being honored as Captain of the Whitney Young Varsity Football team at the homecoming pep rally in the gym at my school, it struck me that I was in the same room where my athletic career had begun 12 years ago, with Pee Wee Basketball. I played basketball, baseball, and football throughout grade school and high school. Athletics, especially team sports, have been hugely important to me. Hardly a day or a week, and never a whole season, has gone by without my participating in some team sport. Being a part of all of these teams has given my high school life structure, uniformity, and many great friendships. Working hard to succeed in athletic competition, and competing so often, have given me habits of effort and focusing on success that carry over into everything I do. Music and athletics have their obvious differences, but their similarities are the things I enjoy most about them. They both involve teamwork and camaraderie which allow me to be a leader. I have been a leader in both athletics and music as captain of the football team and co-principal of the CYSO viola section. Both music and athletics require large amounts of preparation, sustained over time. I have learned to appreciate the process involved in reaching my goals, whether it is learning a new piece on the viola or preparing for my next football game. I am comfortable with routines of preparation revolving around music and sports. Furthermore routine preparation carries over into my school work and keeps me on task. Music and athletics shape who I am. They drive my daily and weekly routine and allow me to express myself. I am grateful that I have been blessed with enough talent and perseverance to give my time to both music and athletics, and to continue to excel in both.

Business Research Analysis for Social Electronic - myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about theBusiness Research Analysis for Social Electronic. Answer: Reflection report Evaluate the effectiveness and your usefulness of the learning experience This research is valuable for me as it has developed my research and technical skills. This research has developed my knowledge regarding threats and opportunities, and application of social electronic commerce in the context of Australian restaurant sectors. From the introduction chapter, I have learned that Social Electronic Commerce is a division under the electronic commercial type of business, where the shopping is exercised through websites and online media. It is analyzed that one of the key advantages of using social e-commerce is that it helps business to engage the customers as per the social behavior and buying trends (Turban, et. al., 2015). As a result, this experience is valuable for using social e-commerce practices in the corporation. Explain how this learning process will be useful to you From this research, I have also developed an understanding regarding online selling. In this way, it can be stated that there are different online social users who get attracted towards the particular brand because they are aware of the products and services (See-To, et. al., 2014). I have pointed that scaling of social e-commerce has involved in different kinds of operational aspects. As a result, I am able to enhance my professional and personal career in the future by using the social e-commerce. Through this research, I have learned that the e-commerce is a form of business which aid to connect the restaurant with the target set of customers. It is also observed that the use of social media is popular due to effective technological infrastructure within Australian nation (Qu, et. al., 2015). Consequently, it enables me to connect the people with the digital world. From the literature review, I have also observed that an impulsive attitude can be created among consumer by using social media marketing in the Australian sector. Further, this strategy can force the customers to buy the unhygienic products in food market (Nadeem, et. al., 2015). But, this strategy could be beneficial for me to sell my any products in the market through social electronic e-commerce technology. I have also learned that proper critical evaluation is required to assess the impact of social electronic commerce on Australian restaurant sector. It is a key issue of the literature review as this learning experience was beneficial to mitigate this issue in further research. From this research, social commerce is mainly focused on the integration of online vendors and aspects regarding social shopping. It also integrates virtual online groups which are created by online shoppers. In addition to this, I have observed that digital technology is improved in the 21st century because online shopping and E-commerce is flourished in all part of the society. Describe objectively what happened in the learning process I have read about the social media tools like Facebook and Twitter which is used by maximum business sector. I have seen that people post the picture of food products that they have eaten in any restaurant on their social media. As a result, this learning experience was beneficial for me to attract the more customers towards their restaurant. I have also heard about the social capital. It is an essential part of social electronic commerce which provides a network to an individual who is active users on social media. Moreover, application of social media marketing builds a favorable image in the mind of customers (Rahayu, and Day, 2015). But, at the same time, I have developed my understanding regarding the issue of social media marketing. In this way, it is analyzed that privacy of data is a major cause of SMM where data about the company can be damaged via electronic commerce. Along with this, personal data of the users may be revealed through the application of social media (Sharma , and Crossler, 2014). As a result, I am competent to focus on the disadvantages of using social electronic e-commerce. Another issue which is identified me as misleading the information. This learning experience was helpful for me to consider the different issue during the implementation of social electronic e-commerce. Evaluate what you learn The business research was helpful for me to enhance my learning in the research field. Because, it has developed my understanding regarding how to make hypothesis hence I am able to make hypothesis by using the two different variables named independent and dependent. I have also pointed that research question is categorized into two parts i.e. primary and secondary. These questions should be effective to respond the answer through research. Explain your learning process I did different activities during the research like designing and methodology of current research. In this way, it is observed that qualitative methods focus on the interview method (Savrul, et. al., 2014). However, the validity and reliability are the key functional areas of qualitative technique hence the gathered data should be confidential (Dinev, et. al., 2016). Along with this, I have chosen probability sampling method to avoid the biases from the survey. To get the reliable and valid opinion, I have selected appropriate sample size for this survey. It could be also significant to meet the research objectives in effective and efficient manner. I have also used two different variables like an independent and dependent variable to assess the relationship between them. Consequently, it will ensure me to obtain the reliable and valid information as well as, effective to complete the research successfully. Another activity that is done for me is to use the qualitative research. In this way, I have selected positivism philosophy and deductive approach due to objective nature of research topic. Along with this, I have learned that descriptive design emphasizes on the analysis of current concept and theories. For the descriptive analysis, I have used questionnaire method as a research instrument. I have also selected probability sampling method to select the participants. In this way, survey through questionnaire method is exercised to collect the quantitative data (Severi, et. al., 2014). Moreover, I have represented the gathered data by using different charts, graphs, and tables. For measuring the validity and reliability, I have avoided the biases from survey through a questionnaire. These activities were beneficial to reach the research objectives in effective and efficient manner. Explain Plan how this learning you will apply I have also used research limitation to get an accurate outcome. In this way, I have pointed that there are different research limitation named short-time framework, inadequate financial support, and some invalid journal article that have created complexities to accomplish the research objectives. I have also faced challenges because certain articles were not published hence these are discarded from gathering information. Along with this, I have also gained my understanding regarding another research limitation. In this way, it is assessed that certain journal information was not appropriate which has declined the reliability and validity of research (Hajli, 2015). This learning experience has applied by me to conduct further research in the field of research limitation. Besides this, I have used the research schedule to make blueprint about the activities that will be performed and time that will be taken by research to complete the research activities. This learning experience was beneficial for me as I can apply this in the future to become a good digital marketing manager. References Dinev, T., Albano, V., Xu, H., DAtri, A., Hart, P. (2016). Moral Issues Behind Keeping Promises Essays - Ethics, Law, Promise
Moral Issues Behind Keeping Promises The Moral Issues behind Keeping Promises Almost every relationship between two people involves the making of promises to each other. It involves giving each other words that must be followed given any certain circumstance. Therefore, making a promise implies that one will keep it, as in staying true to one's word. With this, one's future actions must lie on the basis of words spoken prior to the action being taken, and it must not stray from this rule. From this, some philosophically interesting issues arise. Morals come into question quite often when promises are made. For whatever reason one person makes a promise to another and for whatever manner he or she makes that promise, they place themselves in a situation similar to or in complete sympathy with the person to whom the promise has been made. With this situation, it is possible that it may not be in the best interest of the person who has made the promise to keep the promise. If such a situation were to occur, the promise will only hold depending upon certain conditions of the case. Thus, if one breaks a promise, it is not necessarily a reflection of that person's ability to keep his or her word. Rather, it is a reflection of his noted decision to put his or her interests behind those of the one whom the promise is for. Such an issue makes promise keeping philosophically interesting since the idea of ?service before self? would never arise if people never made promises. If such a society were to exist, no moral credit would be giv en for keeping a promise, and no feelings of blame would arise when breaking a promise. Therefore, it would be deemed stupid and dangerous to place oneself in a position of future disadvantage. Philosophy

The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway Review
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway Review The Old Man and the Sea was a big success for Ernest Hemingway when it was published in 1952. At first glance, the story appears to be a simple tale of an old Cuban fisherman who catches an enormous fish, only to lose it. Theres much more to theà story a tale ofà bravery and heroism, of one mans struggle against his own doubts, the elements, a massive fish, sharks and even his desire to give up. The old man eventually succeeds, then fails, and then wins again. Its the story of perseverance and the machismo of the old man against the elements. This slim novella its only 127 pages à helped to revive Hemingways reputation as a writer, winning him great acclaim, including the Nobel Prize for literature.à Overview Santiago is an old man and a fisherman who has gone for months without catching a fish. Many are starting to doubt his abilities as an angler. Even his apprentice, Manolin, has abandoned him and gone to work for a more prosperous boat. The old man sets out to the open sea one day off the Florida coast and goes a little farther out than he normally would in his desperation to catch a fish. Sure enough, at noon, a big marlin takes hold of one of the lines, but the fish is far too big for Santiago to handle. To avoid letting the fish escape, Santiago lets the line go slack so that the fish wont break his pole; but he and his boat are dragged out to sea for three days. A kind of kinship and honorà develop between the fish and the man.à Finally, the fish an enormous and worthy opponent grows tired, and Santiago kills it. This victory does not end Santiagos journey; he is still far out to sea. Santiago has to drag the marlin behind the boat, and the blood from the dead fish attracts sharks.Santiago does his best to fend off the sharks, but his efforts are in vain. The sharks eat the flesh of the marlin, and Santiago is left with only the bones. Santiago gets back to shore weary and tired with nothing to show for his pains but the skeletal remains of a large marlin. Even with just the bare remains of the fish, the experience has changed himà and altered the perception others have of him. Manolin wakes the old man the morning after his return and suggests that they once again fish t ogether. Life and Death During his struggle to catch the fish, Santiago holds on to the rope even though he is cut and bruised by it, even though he wants to sleep and eat. He holds onto the rope as though his life depends on it. In these scenes of struggle, Hemingway brings to the fore the power and masculinity of a simple man in a simple habitat. He demonstrates how heroism is possible in even the most seemingly mundane circumstances. Hemingways novella shows how death can invigorate life, how killing and death can bring a man to an understanding of his own mortality and his own power to overcome it.à Hemingwayà writes of a time when fishing was not merely a business or a sport. Instead, fishing was an expression of humankind in its natural state in tune with nature. Enormous stamina and powerà aroseà in the breast of Santiago. The simple fisherman became a classical hero in his epic struggle.

Employee Discipline related to the Hospitality Industry Research Paper
Employee Discipline related to the Hospitality Industry - Research Paper Example Five common reasons for turnover are mentioned thereafter. The following sub-section deals with the implications for practical management. These are specified in the context of employee turnover. Employee Discipline is the next section. The term is described in fair detail. The section is rounded off with the characteristics of nature. The concluding section talks about the best practices with reference to employee discipline. Five broad practices that are noteworthy are elaborated here. The final conclusion is a summary of the entire report. An organization is known by the employees working for it. The human resource function assumes importance in this context. Each organization tries to select the right employee with care and tries to retain him/her with even greater care. While the employee cannot be neglected, neither can the activity nor business be ignored. It is after all, due to the business that the employee exists. Hence, certain norms need to be followed in the conduct of business. These are applicable to all employees across the board. Similarly, discipline is applicable to all industries and businesses alike. The hospitality industry encompasses businesses like the hotel and tourism industries. In the hospitality field, service is crucial and can make or break a business. Anything that disrupts the smooth functioning of a business can impact the bottom line. This is especially pertinent in an industry which is seasonal in nature. Discipline is also the yardstick by which every employee is evaluated with respect to the organization. While it sets standards for behavior in an organizational setting, it also provides a safeguard against deviations or erratic aspects of the same. Indiscipline affects not only an individual employee but also the next immediate group. It has a visible effect on superior-subordinate relations as well. Ultimately, discipline also sets guidelines for the industry as a

Should Americans have free universal health care Research Paper
Should Americans have free universal health care - Research Paper Example However, the health insurance project does not give an impression of achieving its intended purpose of providing quality health security. In the contemporary American society, health security seems to be confined to a given section of the local populace. I am a loyal retiree and an inhabitant of the United States of America. No member of my entire family is currently entitled to health insurance coverage. My health insurance coverage was, unfortunately, withdrawn when I lost my job. Nonetheless, I do admit that even when I enjoyed the privileges that come with full-time job, I never benefited from the scheme as to my expectations. Consequently, my quest for valuable health care services coerced me into conducting a research on the proposed free Universal Health Care; its legitimacy and suitability to the ordinary American population. The research paper is a detailed, analytical editorial based on a number of past research studies. INTRODUCTION The universal health care, also known as the social health protection, is a system which provides quality health coverage and financial shield to all citizens of a given country. Its key goal is to provide a significant package of financial and medical promotions to all members of the stateââ¬â¢s populace. ... Today, scores of debates and arguments have developed in America pertaining to whether or not the Universal health coverage is morally justified. The so called Obama Care was established and approved in 2010 as an idea of the Institute of Medicine. Its principal concern is to ensure that all Americans have affordable health coverage by 2014. The Americansââ¬â¢ take on the current health care system Most American citizens sympathize with the fact that the present-day American healthcare system is skewed toward the concern of corporate bodies rather than independent individuals and small scale business units. The contemporary American health insurance policy employs a scheme known as pooling in which employers attached to large corporations insure their employees with health care insurances, subject to contract. However, there is usually a wide disparity between the sick and healthy as a majority of the insured employees live healthily. As a matter of facts, the said discrepancy cov ers the expenses of the sick resulting to sound premiums for the companiesââ¬â¢ employees. Conversely, this approach is only appropriate for companies with the substantial number of employees thus creating hurdles for undersized businesses. Miniature business units find sheer intricacy in covering their employees. This is attributed to the high ratio of the hill to the healthy resulting in sky-scraping premiums. In contrast, such establishments often fail to afford the premiums hence opt out of upholding the health coverage system for their employees. As a result, most American employees in the small business sector tend to believe that the proposed free Universal health coverage will be a better deal if well implemented.

What are the ways in which the Early Years Foundation Stage supports Essay
What are the ways in which the Early Years Foundation Stage supports practitioners in thier planning for young children's learning - Essay Example Many theorists have presented their own views on children. Behaviorists led by the prominent B.F. Skinner, John B. Watson, Edward Thondike, etc., see children as organisms that learn by reinforcement. The Maturationists, led by Jean-Jacques Rosseau, Maria Montessori, Friedrich Froebel, etc. see the child as like a seed that contains all the elements to produce a fruit if given the proper amounts of nutrients from the soil and water along with sunshine and an ideal climate (Brewer, 2001). The Constructivists, founded on the works of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky, believe that children are not passive recipients of knowledge, rather, they actively work at organizing their experience into constructing their own learning. In many ways, children have proven that they indeed are capable of many things originally unexpected of them. Constructivists are consistent in their belief that childrenââ¬â¢s capabilities in terms of learning can even match that of adultââ¬â¢s. Because of their clarity of thinking, unobstructed by pressures put on by society, they may even surpass the learning abilities of adults. ââ¬Å"Children are seen as active and competent in their own learning, fully participatory in co-constructing their learning through social interactions, as opposed to this somehow being shaped by more knowledgeable others.â⬠(Mitchell & Wild, 2004, p. 734) In an effort to meet childrenââ¬â¢s developmental needs, the education of teachers is now putting emphasis on child-centered approaches. The growing awareness that children are indeed capable of becoming contributing members of society has prompted the UK government to consult children themselves, of things that matter to them most in order to be the basis of proposals for change. These key outcomesââ¬âbeing healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and economic well-being are detailed in the Every Child Matters report
